Reverend Ron DeCar

Ron DeCar is known as the King of Las Vegas and is the most sought-after soloist in the Las Vegas wedding industry. His achievements include the founding of the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, known worldwide as the Elvis Wedding Chapel. The chapel has been featured on such TV shows as CSI Las Vegas, the NBC Nightly News, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Christopher Lowell Show, Oprah, E! and the Today show.

Before Ron opened Viva Las Vegas Weddings, he appeared as the lead performer at the Tropicana's Folies Bergere for over 12 years. He has been performing professionally for over 30 years and has been featured in numerous magazines including Elle, Playboy, Entertainment Weekly, Woman's World, and in Time magazine's Millennium Issue 2000, just to name a few. In addition, Weddings of a Lifetime, Entertainment Tonight, the Today show and Fox television have all devoted major segments to Ron and his wedding chapels. Ron still manages to find time to impersonate Elvis and numerous character ministers, as well as officiating at our more traditional ceremonies in suit and tie!

Reverend Roland August

Roland August began his career in New York City after graduating from Loyola Marymount University as a theatre major. He quickly found a place in musical theatre, landing his first role within a couple of weeks of graduation in the Andrew Lloyd Weber sensation, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. As a sign of things to come, Roland was cast as the Pharaoh, a hip shaking, jumpsuit-wearing version of The King himself –Elvis!

From that auspicious beginning, Roland was hooked on performing in New York for the next six years. He enjoyed roles in over 50 plays and musicals before moving back to sunny California, where he played a recurring role on the soap opera Santa Barbara before moving on to roles on The Golden Girls and the Tracy Ullman Show--ironically both times as an Elvis impersonator! Besides his work as one of the Kings of Las Vegas at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, Roland stays busy with local musical theatre. He recently completed a run in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Roland's philosophy on life can be summed up by his favorite line in the musical, Grease: "It don't matter if you win or lose, it's what you do with those dancing shoes!"

Reverend Michael Conti

Michael Conti has been working as an Elvis tribute artist for 20 years, ever since a friend got him to sing an Elvis song at a karaoke bar in LA. Originally from McAllen, Texas, Michael graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Radio, TV and Film. Early on, he worked as an actor and model in Dallas, and has been singing and playing drums since the sixth grade. You may have seen him on the Strip at the world-famous Legends in Concert, but he’s also performed all over the country. As with many Elvis impersonators, he accidentally fell into the profession and now serenades you and performs your wedding vows here at Viva Las Vegas Weddings.

When not performing or doing weddings, Michael enjoys taking his dog, Venus, a Vizsla, for walks. vShe’s a sporting dog, and needs lots of exercise and attention–just like me! I’m an Aries, and I’m always keeping busy one way or another." We’re doing our best to keep him hopping at Viva Las Vegas Weddings. As our newest Elvis, Michael has already doubled as the Grim Reaper in Gothic Weddings, and we expect to see him in various other themed wedding roles. Since he’s also a drummer, maybe impersonating Ringo at our Beatles-themed wedding will be his next matrimonial challenge.

Reverend Daphne

"I LOVE MY JOB! How many people go to work each day saying that?" A longtime Viva Las Vegas minister, Reverend Daphne has the delightful task of marrying hundreds of couples each year. (To date, she has over 17,000 ceremonies under her belt.) " I meet people not just from various states in the USA, which I find very interesting, but people from all over the world. I have traveled to many countries during my lifetime, so I get chat with couples about the wonderful time I had in their city or country."

Reverend Daphne notes that professional life lessons apply to marriages, as well. "Keep your promises. Be on time–no excuses. Pay attention to the needs of the other person. Follow through on what you say you’ll do. All those things go a long way toward creating the trust and respect that are the foundation of love, and a happy family, too."

Reverend Kalin Ivanov

Reverend Kalin has been working at Viva Las Vegas Weddings since he was a teenager. He has done nearly every job at the wedding chapel, from lead photographer to coordinating weddings to performing in ceremonies. Eventually Kalin became a minister. Minister Ivanov plays multiple characters for various themed weddings, from a Bluez Brother to an Inspector Clueso impersonator. For him, these (usually hilarious) occasions to perform as minister are a welcome break when he's not managing the chapel.

Few wedding photographers–in fact, few folks in general–can multi-task in quite the way Kalin of Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel does. Twice every hour, Kalin dresses the chapel for the next themed or traditional wedding, prepares his equipment, then captures still images AND video of the wedding in progress, all the while running lights, sound, music, curtains and the fog machine! In addition, he is usually busy making everyone else feel at ease with his sharp wit and charming Bulgarian accent. When he’s not actually involved in ceremonies, Kalin’s often managing the digital/video archives in the perpetually busy photo lab within the chapel complex.
