If you’re doing a legal wedding in Las Vegas, here’s all the Las Vegas marriage license info you need to know. Once you’ve booked your Traditional, Themed or Elvis wedding with us, that is! We take care of everything else, but the license is up to you. (If you’re renewing your vows, you won’t need a license at all!)
Before traveling to Vegas, or at least once you’ve arrived, you MUST fill out your marriage license application online. You can find the form here: https://clerk.clarkcountynv.gov/AcclaimClerkPreApp/ If you have questions about the process, more detailed information with FAQ’s can be found here: http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/clerk/services/Pages/how-to-get-a-marriage-license.aspx
Once you’ve settled into your hotel, you’ll need to travel north on the Strip to downtown Las Vegas to visit the Marriage Bureau. There’s no waiting period, so if you plan ahead, you can even go the day of your actual ceremony. The Clark County Marriage Bureau is open from 8 A.M. until midnight every day including holidays. The Bureau is located at 201 Clark Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89155-1603, less than a mile from the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. You’ll find it on the first floor of the Regional Justice Center, on the northwest corner of Third and Clark Street. Their phone number is 702-671-0600.
A marriage license in Las Vegas will cost you $77, payable only with a credit or debit card, due to Covid regulations. Be sure to bring your completed application with you. BOTH THE BRIDE AND GROOM (or both members of the wedding couple) must be present. For all legal marriages, the marriage license is required to be presented at our chapel at the time of the wedding. Without the marriage license, the minister will not perform the ceremony. The couple will be asked to reschedule in the case of a forgotten license. (We can make do if you’ve forgotten your rings, however!)
In addition, check out the Covid safety precautions at the Marriage Bureau here: http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/clerk/Pages/covid19info.aspx This page offers lots of other advice for couples, like bringing an umbrella for shade if you end up having to wait outside if the line gets too long inside to accommodate social distancing. Remember, too, masks are required inside businesses in Las Vegas.
